COMMODORES

Formed in 1961 by students attending General Douglas MacArthur HS, Levittown NY.

This blog is an attempt to bring the members of the Commodores back together via a virtual reunion. A volunteer(s) is needed to organize a real reunion. Blogger: John McCormick, johnmc03301@yahoo.com

The Commodore's Jacket

Faculty and students alike would turn to the side and make room when a Commodore wearing the jacket walked the halls of MacArthur High.

As I recall, many of us took the bus to Hampstead where we ordered the jacket. I believe "The Shabe" took the lead in the design and it cost between $20 and $25, real money at the time.

Kudos to Dave Vittor for keeping it all these years and sharing it with us.

Does anyone else have the jacket?

I also recall we had purchased dark blue collared quarter-zip sweatshirts with a large Old English C on the front. They were quite the item at Jones Beach. It is very doubtful that anyone still has one of these, but if you do, please share it with us.
